Do you have any plans to support other source control providers. In my case I am think specifically of SourceGear's Vault product.

yes we do, we did a study on all the source control providers we could think of and have a plan to introduce them into the product. This will not start until the second half of this year (2006) as long as other items in the plan are completed.

we did approach Star-Team when we did our study and it is one that we'll be looking at again when we come to execute our plan. Hopefully this time though they'll be a little more responsive to our questions...

We are looking at DBGhost as an alternative to Visual Studio Team Edition for Database Professionals. I came across your product while doing some research on alternatives. Overall, we really like "Datadude", but the price point is high compared to the functionality provided.
This thread specifically asked about integration with other source control providers as alternatives to VSS. We have been using SourceGear Vault for almost 3 years now, and love using products with integrated source control that have Vault support. Your FAQ currently states that you only provide integrated source control with VSS, but this thread mentions that you had planned to start work on integration with other providers back in late 2006.
Was this canceled, still in progress, or is your FAQ outdated? Please let us know what the status is of support for other source control providers, with Vault of course highest on our priority list.

Jim Erwin

Hi Jim,
Actually we shelved the plans at the time due to the large amount of re-work that SQL 2005 introduced. However, with Release 5.0, which is coming out in the next few weeks, that re-work is over and we will be increasing the support for source control systems as our next priority. Currently the list is:
Team Foundation Server, Vault, CVS, Perforce and Surround in that order. The order was determined by the number of requests we have received for each.
This means the implementation will occur gradually over the next six months.

Malcolm,
Thanks for the prompt reply. We will take this into account during the evaluation process.

Malcolm,
Is Subversion on your list of Source Control programs that you are planning on integrating the DB Tools with?

| What is the current status of repository support changes/additions? We use Perforce here and would really like to tie in to it with DB Ghost moving forward. |
